Become a Citizen of the World

Salve Regina strongly believes that all students should have a well balanced education rooted in the liberal arts. The faculty has designed an exciting and innovative new core curriculum to provide a common academic foundation for our students. Over the four years, students take a sequence of courses designed to help them integrate and see connections among various subject areas.

The theme of the Salve Regina core curriculum is Developing Lifelong Learners and Responsible Citizens of the World. A responsible world citizen is someone who understands and appreciates the diversity of the one human family that extends across the globe. A responsible world citizen is concerned about the major issues, whether local, regional, national, or global, and keeps informed about them in order to debate them intelligently. The goal of the core curriculum is to encourage students to continue learning long after college.
