Decisions
Accept: Applicants accepted to Salve Regina
must submit their enrollment deposit by May 1st. Accepted students
planning to apply for financial aid must file all required financial aid forms by March 1st.
Wait List: Applicants placed on the wait
list will be notified of their status no earlier than May 1st and
no later than June 30th. Students must return the wait list response
form to hold their place on the wait list. We realize the difficulty
associated with the uncertainty of being on the wait list and have
developed a question and answer sheet (need a link to it) to answer
your questions.
Denial: Unfortunately, Salve Regina receives
many more applications than there are spaces in the entering class.
In recent years, Salve Regina has been able to accept only 50-60%
of applicants. If you receive a denial letter and have questions
about the decision, please send your questions in writing and we
will respond. Unfortunately, we cannot accept phone calls on this
topic during reading season (December March). Students who
are not accepted are welcome to reapply the following year after
a successful year at another college.
Defer to Regular Applicant Pool: If you applied under the Early Action plan and received a letter stating that your application was deferred, this means that your application will be re-reviewed within our Regular Decision applicant pool. Simply put, the Admissions Committee needs more information-about you as well as the applicant pool as a whole-- before it can make a final decision on your application. (About a quarter of all the students who applied Early Action were deferred to the regular applicant pool.) You should arrange to have your guidance counselor send your 2nd quarter grades as soon as they are available, as well as any updated SAT or ACT scores. Also, feel free to send any additional information that you think may strengthen your application. Applicants will typically receive a decision 4-6 weeks after 2nd quarter grades are received.
