A 2007 Salve graduate, Spencer is the newest member of our admissions family. In his time as an undergraduate, Spencer worked as a tour guide and spent his senior year coordinating the day visit program for prospective students. Two days after graduation, Spencer awoke to the sound of his cell phone ringing, surprised to hear Salve's Dean of Undergraduate Admissions, Colleen Emerson, on the other end: "It was very unexpected! I was so excited, I pretty much just gasped in joy." Needless to say, Spencer is thrilled to be on the road representing his alma mater!
To say Spencer was a very active student is an understatement, as he understands the importance of getting involved on campus. During his undergraduate years, Spencer was a member of the Campus Activities Board, Psychology Club, Model United Nations and served as the president of the Salve Regina chapter of Psi Chi (the national honor society for psychology). "Getting involved may sound cliché, but it's such an integral part of your college experience… It allows you to meet and network with new people and broaden your horizons, which is essentially what college is all about."
Having represented Salve at college fairs in the past, Spencer is understandably excited for his first full season of travel in the great state of New York. "New York is truly a special state because of its diverse cultural and geographical background. One day you could be in the middle of America's largest city, the next you could be on a mountain top overlooking the lakes. To me, that’s everything you could ask for in a recruitment territory."
Outside of work, Spencer just can’t stay still. Whether he is working on his 15 year old Volvo, or stringing his lacrosse stick, Spencer always has a project to keep him busy. An avid musician, Spencer has recorded two CDs with his former band and manages to stay on top of his instruments in his spare time. A die hard Red Sox fan, Spencer insists that his devotion to "the boys from Beantown" will not interfere with his New York recruiting: "Unlike many Red Sox fans, I don't hate the Yankees –they're a great team with great guys on and off the field!"
