During her undergraduate internship in the Office of Admission at Saint Anselm College, Mandy discovered that she enjoyed the admissions field enough to pursue a "real" job in it. Shortly after graduation, in July 2001, she began her career as an admissions counselor at Salve Regina. Mandy claims that the minute she stepped onto Salve Regina's campus for her interview, she knew she wanted to make it her next home. "It was love at first sight. Not only did I think Newport was beautiful, but I sensed that Salve Regina was a special place, a real community. What more could I ask for?"

Thanks to her personal affinity for Salve Regina and her belief that students are happy here, Mandy says she genuinely enjoys sharing information about the University with prospective students. After all, she maintains, it's certainly not a tough sell! Fortunately, she also appreciates her audience, "High school students are never dull; they can be funny, sarcastic, curious, hopeful, shy…no matter what, you can't avoid seeing the potential in each of them," she says.

Leaving a trail of enthusiasm in her wake, Mandy works with prospective students from parts of Massachusetts (Boston and Metrowest). When asked where she would go if she could travel anywhere in the world, Mandy marvels, "There are so many places I'd love to travel to. Someday, I hope to visit the Grand Canyon, the California Redwoods, Old Faithful, Mount Rushmore, and the Field of Dreams in Iowa…after going to all of those sites, I'd like to relax on the beaches in Fiji!"

Surely Mandy dreams of relaxation because she never has time for it in reality! In addition to her in-office responsibilities of reading applications, she serves on the Orientation Committee and organizes the Fall Open Houses. When she does have time to herself, Mandy enjoys decorating her Massachusetts home to Martha Stewart's standards, reading the Harry Potter collection and romance novels, shopping, unwinding at the beach, and skiing.
